Young People's Festival of Ideas: Guide to being an Activist

Wednesday 17 May 2017, 19:00 to 20:30

Young People's Festival of Ideas' latest event explores activism in all its forms - from street closures in your local neighbourhood to organsing full scale marches down Park Street.

It's a platform for people to share their success stories, provide tips and tricks for those starting out, and hear from those who have a message to spread. Please bring any placards you may have.

How effective are protests in the current political climate?
Are more young people becoming activists?
Is campaigning online as effective as taking to the streets?

Activist groups speaking include Playing Out, Bristol is the New Black, The Mentality Project and more to be announced soon.

Young People’s Festival of Ideas is a series of debates on critical issues affecting young people today. Brought to you by an event partnership between Bristol Festival of IdeasRising Arts Agency and Arnolfini, the event is open to all. Please note that audience data is shared amongst the named partners.

With a panel of high profile speakers, you can expect debates, laughter and lots of free thinking. This is set to be one of our most dynamic events yet and unlike anything that we've done before, so please reserve your space to guarantee entry.
